Inti OBD gives you two primary windows into your vehicle’s health: Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Live Data. This page explains what each of these is and how to use them in the app.
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
A Diagnostic Trouble Code is a standardized code your vehicle’s onboard computer throws when it detects a problem. Inti OBD lets you read — and in some cases clear — these codes directly from your phone.
Clearable vs Non
Not all DTCs can be cleared from the app:
Clearable codes are stored faults that can be reset once the underlying issue has been addressed. These are typically pending or confirmed codes that your car’s computer has logged. Non-clearable codes are permanent fault codes (PFCs) that can only be cleared by the vehicle’s ECU once it has verified the fault is no longer present through its own internal drive cycle tests. These cannot be manually cleared. Inti displays whether each code is clearable in the DTC summary screen.
Clearing Codes
Clearing a DTC resets the stored fault from your vehicle’s memory and turns off the Check Engine Light (if no other active faults remain). This does not fix the underlying problem — if the issue persists, the code will return.
To clear codes in Inti OBD:
Navigate to the DTC Summary Screen. Upon scan completion, Select Clear/Reset Clearing codes will also reset your vehicle’s emissions readiness monitors. Some states require these monitors to be complete before a vehicle can pass an emissions inspection. To do so, you’ll have to drive around a bit before an inspection can take place.
Live Data
Live Data is a real-time stream of sensor readings from your vehicle’s OBD2 system. Unlike DTCs (which are snapshots of past faults), live data shows you what is happening in your vehicle right now — useful for diagnosing intermittent issues, monitoring engine health, or satisfying curiosity.
